The planetary capital of Karlatt was called Grand Nord (or alternately, Kamaib, a name in an ancient Morse dialect). Located on an isthmus between the planet's two continents, it was a metal jungle with an Imperial-class spaceport that boasted countless hotels, casinos aplenty, omnipresent surveillance droids, and innumerable security cameras. The public was always kept tranquil by the Empire. The city is known for the Park of Fumes, a gigantic thermal establishment in open air. The city was home to the Planetary Council. Numerous worlds had ambassadors dwelling in Kamaib.
