This article is about the ship used by General Grievous to capture Adi Gallia. You may be looking for another of Grievous's Providence-class carrier/destroyers.

The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

Around the second year of the Clone Wars, the Confederate General Grievous' flagship, a Providence-class carrier/destroyer, attacked Jedi Master Adi Gallia's flagship in the vicinity of the planet Patitite Pattuna in conjunction with two Munificent-class star frigates. Sometime after the event, the General ordered the crew of the carrier/destroyer to fire upon the Weequay pirate starship Marauder as target practice, which caused the pirate vessel to be destroyed. Following the attack on the Marauder, a task force, led by Jedi Master Plo Koon, engaged the Confederate vessel. Koon and a group of clone troopers boarded the craft and destroyed multiple battle droids within it.

The interior of the ship's hangar

The Providence-class carrier/destroyer[2] possessed several forward cannons, at least one hangar bay, and an incinerator room. A minimum of 32 B1 battle droids—including a member of the bridge crew and two others positioned in the ship's hangar—as well as fifteen Vulture Droids of the 88th Flight, and two[1] BX-series droid commandos[3] were also present on the ship.[1]

Around 21 BBY,[5] during the Clone Wars—a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems—a Providence-class carrier/destroyer[2] served as the flagship[4] of the Confederate General Grievous. The vessel, along with two Munificent-class star frigates, attacked Jedi Master Adi Gallia's flagship in the vicinity of the planet Patitite Pattuna while Gallia was returning from the world of Aleen. Battle droid forces, led by Grievous, then boarded the Republic craft, capturing Gallia.[1]

Grievous's destroyer comes under attack by Plo Koon's rescue fleet.

Sometime after capturing Gallia, Grievous ordered the crew of his flagship to fire on[1] the Weequay pirate ship Marauder[6] as target practice, destroyed the latter. The protocol droid C-3PO and the astromech droid R2-D2, who had been captured by the pirates previously, flew out of the destroyed craft, boarded Grievous' command ship through an open hangar, and were captured by B1 battle droids that escorted them to be melted down in the ship's incinerator room. Shorty thereafter,[1] Galactic Republic forces[4]—consisting of five Venator-class Star Destroyers and several Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighters—arrived from hyperspace and assaulted the Confederate spacecraft. The attack resulted in the carrier/destroyer taking damage, allowing C-3PO and R2-D2 to escape. Jedi Master Plo Koon and several clone troopers then boarded the craft, destroying multiple battle droids; however, Grievous evaded capture.[1]

Commanders and crewEdit

The ship served as the flagship of General Grievous[4] and was manned by several B1 battle droids, one of whom reported the presence of the Marauder to the general and commenced fire soon afterwards.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

This Providence-class carrier/destroyer first appeared in "Nomad Droids,"[1] the sixth episode of season four of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series,[7] which aired on October 14, 2011.[8]
