A griffin was a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head, wings and talons of an eagle. It had huge claws and could fly. On Mortis, the griffin symbolized the light side of the Force. The Daughter could transform into a griffin.
In one panel of the Thuruht Histories, the Daughter can be seen halfway in her griffin form while bathing in the Pool of Knowledge.
