The H-L Block ion drive was an ion engine that was designed and manufactured by Arakyd Industries.

Due to the already high energy signature of the Helix-class light interceptor for which the H-L Block was originally built for, no heat or emissions-baffling protocols were included in the schematics. This meant that even if not installed on a Helix-class interceptor, a ship that was equipped with H-L Block engines would be very easy to detect for any surveillance station operator.
