Hansel was a Romin deputy for Roy Teda. During their Mission to Romin, Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Siri Tachi and their apprentices, Anakin Skywalker and Ferus Olin, Hansel followed the young Jedi around the city of Eliior. Using the cover of inviting the two to a reception in their honor, he was able to lie himself out of getting caught.

During the reception, the terrorist Joylin and the Citizens' Resistance began their coup, during which Hansel was captured. When Teda was captured, Hansel was released, though he was to be the first executed should Teda have refused to turn himself in.
