Harlsen's Laws of Functional Military Intelligence was a short set of laws developed to teach that nothing was ever perfect in battle. The law states that:

"Limited intelligence reports were inadequate; detailed intelligence reports were inaccurate; highly detailed intelligence reports were traps."
