Haroon was Despayre's sole moon. Its terrain featured massive crystals and it was home to a small Imperial mining operation. The mine's purpose was to procure large, specially cut crystals for an undisclosed military project.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Only visually depicted in Star Wars: X-wing, Haroon was being fully developed for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The game's protagonist was originally supposed to rescue Ackbar from a lifetime of hard labor in the Imperial mines, however, the game's developers decided to cut Haroon from the game so that they could include Cloud City instead. Additionally, the plot element of rescuing Ackbar from incarceration was removed from the game because it clashed with previously established continuity concerning his rescue from the clutches of the Empire.
At one stage in the game's development, Haroon was said to be a planet. At least two pieces of concept art created by Greg Knight depicted Haroon being fired upon by an incomplete Death Star.
