Hast was a Human male. He attended the Imperial Academy before serving as a Pit Lieutenant aboard the Valiant under Captain Oweg and Moff Vensell.[2]
He later resigned his commission and joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic. There, he was sent to observe Ral'Rai Muvunc's business and he served as a Special Agent for Ordnance and Supply Command, and after three years of service was stationed on the privateer starship the Free Lance as an observer under Captain Urias Xhaxin. The two men did not get along well, and Hast's tour of observation was marked by almost perpetual argument, with Hast second guessing the captain.[1]
