Head of State

Head of State was a title used to describe the formal leader of an independent government. Examples of head of state included:
- Archduke, ruler of Geonosis.
- Aristocra, leader of one of the Chiss Ruling Families.
- Blood Monarch, ruler of Thisspias.
- Chief of State, leader of the Rebel Alliance, New Republic, and Galactic Alliance.
- Chairman, leader of Utapau.
- Count, ruler of Serenno.
- Dark Lord of the Sith, ruler of the Sith Empires.
- Diktat, former head of state of Corellia.
- Galactic Emperor or Galactic Empress, ruler of the Galactic Empire and New Galactic Empire.
- First Secretary, Chief Councilor of the Bothan Council.
- Grand Protector, leader of Rodia and the Rodian species.
- Head of State, leader of Confederacy of Independent Systems
- Head of State, planetary leader of Corellians planets.
- Khedive, leader of Sluis Van.
- Miskara, leader of the Vagaari.
- Monarch, such as a King or an Emperor, rulers of various planets.

Many Heads of Government, such as Supreme Chancellor, were considered head of state by virtue of being the highest ranking office.
