The heavy dwarf spider droid was the successor of the original dwarf spider droid, not to be confused with the advanced dwarf spider droid.

Heavy dwarf spider droids were donated by the Commerce Guild to the Confederacy of Independent Systems military during the Clone Wars and were deployed at the Battle of Geonosis. Due to the better characteristics of the A-DSD, however, this short-lived prototype was apparently not pursued.[source?]
