The Helas were a race of amphibious, nonsentient creatures native to the damp world of Enaleh. They had eel-like bodies, with basket shaped heads with four jaw-like flaps and four tentacles. The Helas were born and matured underwater, then later, as adults, they took to the water-dense atmosphere of their planet. They were filter feeders, using their tentacles to detect their insect prey then strain it from the atmosphere using their mouths. The most interesting aspect of the Helas was their ability to fly. The Helas lacked traditional wings, utilizing an internal organ that functioned much like a repulsor engine to lift them from the ground. Their natural predators were the slard.
