Helska IV was the fourth planet in the Helska system, located in Dalonbian sector at the far edge of the Outer Rim Territories.

GeographyEdit

Helska IV was essentially a shell of ice around a vast inner ocean, with occasional pockets of air located in the thick icy crust. The planet was generally considered inhospitable to life as the galaxy knew it, and thus had no native life forms.

HistoryEdit

Helska IV was the site of the Yuuzhan Vong's first foothold during their invasion of the galaxy. It was here that the Praetorite Vong, comprising the first wave of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, set their own yammosk, or War Coordinator, under the frozen surface.

Following the discovery of the Vong on Helska IV by the New Republic, Jedi Knight Anakin Solo formulated and executed a plan to use a shieldship to reflect energy back at the planet, thereby stealing the yammosk's energy through evaporation. Though several ships were lost, the plan worked, and the ice planet's liquid core froze and shattered, killing the yammosk and all Yuuzhan Vong on the planet.
