During the New Sith Wars, Hezzoran served as an instructor in the Sith Academy on Korriban along with LaTor, Qordis, Orilltha, Shenayag, Kopecz and Kas'im. After Kaan joined the New Sith Empire, becoming the Dark Lord of the Sith, Hezzoran was claimed the title of Dark Lord in order to end the waging campaigns against each other, rather than uniting to bring down the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. With Kaan's charisma and power that he spread towards his dark followers, Hezzoran and the Sith struck back against the Jedi and the Republic in order to control the galaxy.
Thousands of Sith and Jedi battled one another across the galaxy, and Hezzoran became a notable member of the Brotherhood of Darkness. As long as the victories continued throughout the galaxy, the Sith would regain control and new race of dark warriors will rise and drive the light siders into extinction. Hezzoran and the Sith would remain united behind Lord Kaan.
During the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, Hezzoran guarded together while Kaan and LaTor developed the creation of the thought bomb which would kill only force-sensitives. Following Kaan's guidance, Hezzoran and the sith would be the ones survive the thought bomb's effect, and its blast radius would only kill the Jedi. But the one thing that they didn't learn from this ancient ritual was: the thought bomb would kill all Force-sensitives (including the Jedi and Sith). As began Army of Light began their final wave, the Sith attacked and battled against them until Kaan activated the thought bomb. The thought bomb was activated, and all the Jedi and Sith perished, with all their souls been absorbed into the the force nexus. Kaan's spirit was able to break out, leaving all the sith and the Jedi to remain in the force prison for eternity. Hezzoran had no idea why Kaan lied to him and the Sith, that the bomb would only kill the Jedi. He came to the point that Kaan deceived them, and that they would never survive. Remaining in the prison, Hezzoran possibly took his step towards the light side.
After the end of the Galactic Republic, and the formation of the Galactic Empire, Hezzoran and the spirits were held for over one thousand years in what became the Valley of the Jedi. However, a former Jedi named Jerec, who fell to the dark side and became an Inquisitor, planned to absorb the power from the force nexus. His efforts have failed when Kyle Katarn defeated him in a lightsaber duel. His spirit, along with the rest of the trapped Jedi and Sith, would eventually be released and become one with the Force.
