The Hismaul system was a star system located in the Karthakk sector, a part of the galactic regions known as the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Trailing Sectors.[2] It was home to a creature known as the Hismauli hawk-snake.[3][4]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Hismaul system was established in the Online Companion to[1] the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas,[5] which placed the system in grid square Q-16.[1]

The Essential Atlas depicts territory falling in that grid square as being located in either the Slice region of the galaxy (spinward from the Corellian Run super-hyperroute) or the Trailing Sectors region (trailing from the Corellian Run). Since the Online Companion places the system within the Karthakk sector, which is located in the trailing direction from the Corellian Run, it therefore must also be part of the Trailing Sectors.

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Hismaul system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Hismauli hawk-snake species.
