The Hitak Harriers was one of many Rebel Alliance units that participated in the battles to control Kwymar Sector during the Galactic Civil War.

It was named after the volcanic Hitak Mountains located on the planet Turak IV, where the unit was responsible for defeating the Imperial 112th Repulsorlift Armor Regiment during a vicious siege.

Despite being decimated on Turak IV, the Harriers would go on to fight in the Battle of Hoth.
