Hold-Parent

A Hold-Parent—hold-father or hold-mother—was a close friend of a youngling's parents and an honorary title. Hold-parents would often bring gifts and toys to the younglings. In extreme circumstances, a hold-parent might adopt a youngling if something happened to their parents.
Lord Hethrir of the Empire Reborn pretended to be a hold-father to the Solo children when he kidnapped them in 14 ABY. The children were not fooled, however, realizing he was telling them lies.
