Home Fleet Strike Group Five was one of the defense fleets stationed at Coruscant during the Clone Wars.

CompositionEdit

Led by Lieutenant Commander Lorth Needa, it consisted of three Carrack-class cruisers—Integrity, Indomitable, and Perseverance—with the support of the Dreadnaught-class cruiser Mas Ramdar.

HistoryEdit

The strike group participated in the Battle of Coruscant against the Separatist fleet. During the final stages of the battle, Strike Group Five deployed in a triangle around the Mas Ramdar, and attacked the Separatist flagship Invisible Hand with full force.

As a result, the Mas Ramdar was blown to bits, and the Indomitable became a mere shell. All that remained were the Integrity and the Perseverance. The Strike Group trapped the Invisible Hand, with Needa ordering Grievous's surrender. The General refused, and the Venator-class Star Destroyer Guarlara subsequently damaged the Invisible Hand critically—damage which ultimately lead to her demise. Because of a communication error, the group also inadvertently nearly killed Palpatine, as well as the two Jedi who rescued him, in the process.
