House Petro was an artistocratic family that was among a group of settlers that went to live on worlds in and around the nebula Thull's Shroud, in about 1,000 BBY. The Petro settled in the Kalgo system, on the many moons of the planet Kalgo 13, in a region that would later become known as the Senex sector.^[1]

House Petro also controlled Tranthellix, agricultural world Kamur and the forested world Usnia, which they made into a nature reserve. They also had mining operations on the desert world Jalarren.^[1]

Gyla Petro was a member of the house.^[2]
