They held a high standard, until the rival House of Tagge set them up, framing the family and causing their fall from grace within the Galactic Empire. As a result of the legal proceedings, much of the family fortune was taken away, leaving the youngest member of the lineage, Captain Espan Balfed, with little inheritance.
