Early in Darth Vader's time as a Sith Lord, Vader and the Grand Inquisitor were sent by Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine to hunt down Jedi Master Jocasta Nu and bring her before him so that she could tell him the location of a great treasure that was key to the future of the Galactic Empire:^[3] the Kyber memory crystal list of Force-sensitive children, whom Palpatine would be able to corrupt into servants of the dark side of the Force. After her capture, she revealed the Emperor's plans to Vader. Vader killed Nu and made it seem like she died in a crash, destroying the crystal to prevent Sidious's future plan.^[5]
