Huntmaster was a title created by the Wookiees of the planet Kashyyyk. The job of a Huntmaster was to test the hunting prowess of the travelers of Kashyyyk's many hunting trails by giving them a series of increasingly difficult hunts to undertake. The Wookiee Krepauk was the Huntmaster of the Rryatt Trail near the city of Rwookrrorro.

A Huntmaster was also on Dromund Kaas during the Cold War. He spoke to possible Great Hunt contestants who were competing for the final spot in the Great Hunt. A bounty hunter was then sent out on three bounties taking the hunter across the planet.
