Characteristics
Edit
A mixed-drive vehicle, the Hyperfoil combined repulsorlift drive systems and hovercraft technology, creating a vehicle that was not only very attractive to collectors but also had a very high flight-ceiling for its price range. The hover engines were used for a quiet lift off and the repulsor engines kicked in for fast horizontal cruising flight.
History
Edit
Despite its advantages, the hybrid design never caught on. In spite of its reliability and ease of maintenance, the need to cram both hover and repulsor engines in the same chassis made the vehicle too big and cumbersome for optimal urban use.
