A hyperspace pod was a small pod designed for one-time trips through hyperspace. Notably used by droids, once the pod exited hyperspace it crashed into a planet's surface and broke apart, allowing the droid to exit the pod.

Both the Spelunker probe droid of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Viper probe droid of the Galactic Empire used hyperspace pods in their travels.
