The IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid,[2] also known simply as the IM-6 medic droid,[4] was a model of medical droid manufactured by Cybot Galactica. Like the JN-66 and SP-4 analysis droids, it reused many of the components found in the PK-series worker droid.[1] IM-6s were used by the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. They were included with the emergency equipment carried aboard Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunships,[2] and were used to complement the crews of All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walkers and attend to any injured clone trooper crewmen.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

The IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon as the IM-6 medic droid in Star Wars: Rogue One: AT-ACT Deluxe Book and 3D Wood Model, a 2017 Star Wars IncrediBuilds woodshop activity book written by Michael Kogge.[4] The 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles later introduced the name IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid.[2] The droid was originally mentioned in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, a Star Wars Legends reference book written by Curtis Saxton[5] and published on April 23, 2002.[6] The droid first appeared in the LucasArts Legends video game Clone Campaigns,[7] which was released on May 15, 2002[8] as an expansion to the 2001 game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.[9]
