IMP-22 was a an Imperial military protocol droid serving as advisor to a high ranking commander. It was red and its head was slightly reminiscent of a Mandalorian helmet. IMP-22 was slightly arrogant, but seemed to have full confidence in the skill of his master. Nevertheless, IMP-22 was known to offer his advice whenever he could. However, he became short-tempered if his commander displayed any signs of incompetence.
