The Grand Meeting Hall was a massive section of the Imperial Palace on Coruscant. Serving both the Galactic Empire and the New Republic, the enormity of the Grand Meeting Hall was diminished in relation with the Grand Corridor.
History
The Grand Meeting Hall had been erected inside the Imperial Palace on Coruscant by 18 BBY, serving as a large corridor filled with Imperial diplomats, ambassadors, functionaries, and aide-de-camps during the first days of the Galactic Empire.[2]
Following the liberation of Coruscant, the New Republic took control of the Imperial Palace and ousted all remaining Imperials from the massive complex's halls. As Chief of State Leia Organa Solo and her government resided in the Palace, a band of Imperial raiders infiltrated the Palace in 13 ABY as part of a planned assassination attempt on the Chief. At the time Chief of the Palace Guard Mirith Sinn was sweeping the Meeting Hall when she discovered the intruders. It was quickly determined that they had been sent by the Restored Empire and they were successfully thwarted.[3]
