This article is about the throne room used by the Emperor during the Zaarin insurgency in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant. You may be looking for another one of his throne rooms..

During the Zaarin insurgency and the finalizations of his trap on Endor, the Emperor used this throne room of the Imperial Palace on Coruscant to meet with various officers for pressing matters.

Located high enough within the central tower of the Imperial Palace to be directly near storm clouds and the atmosphere, this throne room was constructed following the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Palpatine utilized this throne room in several instances between 3 ABY and 4 ABY during the Galactic Civil War: Once, he was met by Darth Vader, who reported the progress of Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin's TIE Avenger project, as well as notified him that the security within Zaarin's facility may have been breached by a Rebel agent, with an investigation currently undergoing. Later, when Zaarin conducted a coup on the Emperor, Palpatine and Vader discussed the matter, with Palpatine declaring that the Secret Order of the Empire has notified him of the danger. He later used the throne room during the Zaarin insurrection where he requested that Thrawn carry out his hunt for Zaarin and stopping his TIE Defender project, eventually promoting him to Grand Admiral for the task. Later, just prior to the Battle of Endor, where Darth Vader had notified the Emperor that he had ensured that the Rebels had received the bait and that they are as they speak about to convene near Sullust to discuss how to take out the Death Star II, with the latter deciding to go to Endor personally so he can oversee the destruction of the Rebel Alliance. Prior to departing for Endor, however, he also was briefed by Thrawn on the progress of the hunt for Zaarin, where he was notified that the renegade Grand Admiral will soon be defeated.[2]

The throne room possessed some similarities to the one aboard the Death Star II, including the same window behind the throne. It also had guardposts near the throne. Behind the throne were steps as well as rows of thin windows. As the throne room was built directly near the storm clouds, flashes of lightning could be seen nearby from the windows.
