Imperial Revenue Codes governed taxation in the Galactic Empire. Under them, the burden of proof was on the taxpayer; failure to provide adequate proof of having paid taxes was taken as admission of guilt. Fines ranged from confiscation of goods to imprisonment in labor camps.
