The Sith Empire utilized a class of assault shuttle during the Great Galactic War, Cold War, and Galactic War against the Galactic Republic. There existed a larger variation of these shuttles, but the Imperial assault shuttles were used far more frequently than their larger counterparts in the Sith Empire's many wars with the republic.
The assault shuttle utilized two wings in a bent-wing configuration when moving. These wings could be folded up when the shuttle landed, allowing the shuttle to take up less space on hangar floors. A landing ramp was used to board and reboard the vessel, leading up to the main entry hatch.
One shuttle was used by an Imperial assault party from the Black Talon to board the Brentaal Star in order to retrieve or eliminate a key republic officer during an an unexpected mission. This was not an official military conflict, however, as the Black Talon was simply a cargo and passenger vessel on it's way to the Sith capital world of Dromund Kaas. The entire attack was orchestrated by Grand Moff Rycus Kilran without the prior knowledge of any of the Black Talon's crew.
In addition, an Imperial assault shuttle was used by an Imperial strike team in 3643 BBY to board the long-missing Harrower-class dreadnought the Voidstar and retrieve a set of schematics for a prototype superweapon. An assault shuttle was also displayed in the Corellian Museum of Starships during the Cold War, and the Jedi Knight known as the Hero of Tython used the shuttle to infiltrate the Korvalus Tower, Tyrelli Habitat, and the Gowix Corporation building to destroy the Firestorm Turbolasers there as part of a much larger mission to stop the Sith Emperor from completing his plans.
