During the Great Galactic War after the Sacking of Coruscant, two Imperial commandoes ambushed Jedi Satele Shan on a transport ship but were slain in the process. Their deaths were constitued as a violation of the peace treaty between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic according to the droid SP-99

Imperial Commandos were trained and used by Imperial Intelligence in many operations to undermine Republic Strategic Information Service and assassinate high priority targets.
