The implant communicator was a marvel of modern electronics. It was almost considered a cybernetic device. It was a series of tiny transceivers that were surgically inserted under the skin along the skull and next to the vocal cords of the user.
This allowed the user to pickup and send messages without being noticed. While very useful for spies, it suffered from a short range and was especially vulnerable to ion attacks.
