Blazing of the Hydian Way[3]

"Our time has come. For 300 years, we prepared. We grew stronger. While you rested in your cradle of power, believing your people were safe... and protected. You were trusted to lead the Republic—but you were deceived, as our powers over the dark side have blinded you. You assumed no force could challenge you...and now...finally...we have returned."
Darth Malgus during the invasion of the Jedi Temple — Gnome-speakernotesListen (file info)[src]

This historical period occurred between the events of the Old Sith Wars and the New Sith Wars.

"When the Emperor planned the Republic's destruction, he did not foresee the need for alliances. The Sith would sweep through the galaxy, systematically exterminating their age old Jedi enemies and dismantling the proud Republic."
―The Holocron of Jedi Master Gnost-Dural on the Great Galactic War. — Gnome-speakernotesListen (file info)[src]
  • 3701 BBY
    • A scoutship named Hope was disabled and crash-landed on the remote planet of Nuvar. This occurred while its pilot, Freia Kallea, was trying to search for a route that "would span the entire galaxy".
  • 3661 BBY
    • The new Mandalore marshals the Mandalorians into an army once more and forms an alliance with the Sith, blockading the Republic's most critical trade route.
  • 3660 BBY
    • Succeeding where the Jedi have failed, a smuggler convoy under the leadership of Hylo Visz breaks the Mandalorian blockade and restores the Republic's trade route.
