As the capital city of Naboo, Theed was frequented by the planet's senator, Padmé Amidala. During the invasion, Confederate battle droids and spider droids targeted the senator, but were unsuccessful in their attempt on her life due to the intervention of an artist that had envisioned the senator's eminent danger.
