Ion grenades were electronic disruption hand grenades used around 4,000 BBY in the Old Republic era.

Upon impact, the ion grenade triggered an ion burst with a three meter radius capable of disabling droids, automated turrets or other electronic devices.

Revan and Meetra Surik were known to use them on their travels. Some Sith troopers were also known to use them.

Ion grenades were also used around the time of the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY.^[1]
