The Ionic Ring Ship or Ion Ring Ship was a ship created by Professor Renn Volz of Kessel.

It housed the powerful Ion Ring, a device used to stabilize unstable atmospheres.
HistoryEdit
After its first successful testing over the planet Zerm, the ship was commandeered by Imperial Captain Bzorn, who intended to use it as a weapon against planets harboring Rebel cells.
It was used to destroy the atmosphere of the planet Rion, and afterward was turned on Volz's homeworld of Kessel. Before the Ship could be used to fully destroy Kessel's already fragile atmosphere, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca rescued the Professor, who reversed the flow of the ship's ion units, causing a meltdown which destroyed the ship. The four were barely able to escape with their lives.
