"Yeah, well, it's always crowded around Iphigin. Main transfer point for this sector and at least two others."
Han Solo, to Chewbacca[src]

Iphigin was a planet in the Iphigin system of the Core Worlds and the homeworld of the Iphigini species.

Iphigin was a bluish-red planet in the Core Worlds, in a sector inhabited by the Diamala bordering the Ishori Confederene. It was the home planet of the Iphigini species. It was one of the most important New Republic tradeworlds, serving its own and two neighboring sectors. It was protected by a Golan I platform. The Iphigin Spaceport Directorate guided all spacecraft approaching and leaving the planet.[2]

"What's this all about?"
"What's it always about at this end of the Core. The Diamala and Ishori are at it again."
"Let me guess. Commerce and resource-sharing dispute?"
"Close. This time it's shipping security. The Diamala don't like having to rely on local patrol ships when they're coming into Ishori ports. The Ishori, on the other hand, don't want armed Diamala ships coming into their systems."
Luke Skywalker and Han Solo[src]

In 19 ABY, Iphigin was the site of a conference organized by Chief of State Ponc Gavrisom to solve an IshoriDiamal dispute. They were unable to do so, even with the help of Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker, and the dispute soon became part of the greater Caamas Document Crisis.[2]

Solo, Chewbacca, and Skywalker also helped to defend the planet when it was attacked by the Cavrilhu Pirates.[2]
