The island beasts were colossal floating grazers native to Taloraan where they inhabited the upper atmosphere. Island beasts kept themselves afloat by storing gas inside their huge hollow bodies. They had thousands of tendrils hanging from their undersides and a hole on top and one at the bottom for intake and releasing gas.

The Wind Raider tribe of Humans had domesticated some of these creatures and used them as their homes, having built camps inside of them. Its tendrils were typically one to two kilometers long.
