- "This may in fact be the slowest creature in the galaxy."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi
The jamel was a yellow-skinned, four-legged creature native to the planet Utapau.[1] Jamels were used as beasts of burden by the Utapau Amani.[2] During the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker found a jamel near an Amani village during their mission to Utapau and used it to pull a cart carrying a massive kyber crystal.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The jamel first appeared in "Crystal Crisis," the third episode of the unfinished arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, "Crystal Crisis on Utapau," as part of The Clone Wars Legacy.[1] Though not named within the episode, the name "jamel" was revealed in a StarWars.com news post, "Monsters of The Clone Wars: A Season Six Bestiary." Jamels are inspired by real-world camels.[2]
