Jan Duursema is an artist who has produced illustrations for many Star Wars comics. She and John Ostrander worked together on many Star Wars: Republic issues and continued their cooperation on Star Wars: Legacy. She was the basis for the character Ur-Sema Du.

She is the co-creator of multiple fan-favorite characters, such as Denin and Vila from Star Wars 92, the Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura and her Master - Kiffar Jedi Quinlan Vos from the Republic series and most recently - Cade Skywalker and Darth Talon from the ongoing Legacy series, for which she is also sometimes credited as co-writer. Her realistic style of drawing has made her a fan-favorite and awarded her a solid fanbase.

She is married to artist Tom Mandrake, both of whom did the art together for Star Wars 92: The Dream. The couple also have a daughter, named Sian.
