Janks was a Phindian member of the crew of the Uhumele, and was chief engineer Meekerdin-maa's assistant. Two months after the end of the Clone Wars, Janks was captured on the planet Pizkoss and taken into custody by the Galactic Empire. He was personally interrogated by Darth Vader himself, regarding the mysterious cargo the Uhumele was carrying. Another two months later, the station where Janks was being held was infiltrated by an unknown person, who wanted to know about Dass Jennir and subsequently murdered him before Vader arrived.
