Jarn Harvus was an individual who explored the planet Nim Drovis sometime before the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. While on Nim Drovis, Harvus discovered two new species of fauna: a flying carrion-eater[1] and an entirely unrelated but physically similar species.[2] Harvus named the new creatures the harvap[1] and the harvorisk,[2] and both species soon spread throughout Hutt Space.[1]
Behind the scenes
Jarn Harvus was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game released by BioWare in 2011, within the in-game Codex entries for the Harvap and the Harvorisk species. However, neither entry identifies Harvus' species, gender, or why Harvus was exploring Nim Drovis.[1][2]
