Javul Charn was a female Human Holostar who hired Dash Rendar and his crew, Eaden Vrill and LE-BO2D9, to protect her from her stalker, who had committed various threats to her and acts of sabotage during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
After hiring Rendar, he soon discovered that she had attracted quite a bit of attention from dangerous people within the galaxy. While under the name of Alai Jance, she had been engaged to a Vigo of Black Sun by the name of Hityamun Kris. However, he was using her ship, the Nova's Heart to increase his own operations and smuggle items and opponents away from any involvement where the Empire could get to them. Growing frustrated with this, she eventually struck out on her own, leaving Kris, and sold out many Black Sun operations to the Imperial Security Bureau. This led to the collapse of Black Sun's operations throughout the entire Corellian Trade Spine, earning the wrath of Prince Xizor. She also told the Empire about how Black Sun operated, forcing Xizor to change all his methods and reorganize Black Sun's structure. She had caused Black Sun to collapse in the Correllian Trade Spine to make room for the Rebel Alliance. However, Xizor was not the only one who sought out the young actress. Kris sought to keep an eye on her and hopefully scare her back to him, and the ISB sought to pursue her believing her to be a Rebel spy.
While under Rendar's protection, numerous incidents occurred that could have resulted in her death had Rendar, his companion Eaden Vrill and his droid Leebo not been protecting her, with an incident in the Holosseum on Rodia nearly killing her. During her visit to Falleen as part of her tour, they were set upon by an Anomid assassin named Edge, who had been hired by Xizor to kill the young holostar. Another encounter on Bannistar Station led to the death of Vrill, though Javul and her companions escaped.
During this time, Charn was found to be a Rebel agent, ferrying intelligence and a cannister towards Alderaan. However, before they could reach Alderaan, Oto, the service droid of the retinue was found to be the sabouteur and carrying a homing beacon allowing Kris to track them. He also had a signal that would transmit to Xizor and the Empire, allowing them all to capture or kill Charn if they desired. Following a face off in the Circapous system in which an Star Destroyer and two corvettes were forced to sacrifice catching Tharn to stop Xizor firing on civilian ships, they escaped to Commenor. However, there they also encountered an Imperial Dreadnaught, the Avenger, and another Imperial corvette. Escaping their fighters, Charn eventually made it to Alderaan, where she gave the intelligence to Princess Leia Organa, and Rendar was allowed to return to Tatooine to pick up his ship, the Outrider after some rest and relaxation. However, Charn did express regret that she could not spend more time with Rendar at the end of their time together.[1]
