The Jawenko lava beast was a creature native to Mustafar. It naturally produced Nkllonian lava extract from liquid xolonite.[1]
On Tatooine, a lava beast was the pet of the diminutive Jawas. Contained in the furnace on the lower levels of the Jawa sandcrawler, the giant, dragon-like creature would fire searing flames, guarding the captive droid Artoo-Detoo from intruders. For this reason, Luke Skywalker killed the beast in combat while jumping between precarious platforms over a flow of molten lava.[2]
A Jawa deity was named "Great Jawenko".[3]
