Jay Noriv Bith was an artist living around the time of the Galactic Civil War. Bith created a statue on the planet Garell that was regarded by the Galactic Empire as "controversial." The monument was destroyed some years later, motivating a small dissident group to stage an impromptu protest, although they were quickly quelled by local authorities.
According to the Imperial propaganda announcer Alton Castle, the official reason behind the statue's destruction was due to a belief by the Imperial Coalition for Progress Division of COMPNOR that the statue was a danger to the public due to disrepair.
