History
Edit
The founding members of the Je'daii Order were the Force-sensitive individuals that were brought to Tython in the Tho Yor ships at the time of the First Migration. They belonged to various philosophical or scientific traditions, including Wookiee warriors, Dathomiri seers, Selkath scholars, Twi'lek philosophers and Dai Bendu Monks. All of them were concentrating their study on a mystical energy they felt surrounding them, and they called it "the Force".[1]
Once they had settled on Tython for good, they understood the dual aspect of the Force, the Ashla and the Bogan. The Force-sensitive Tythans realized their role was to seek the harmony of balance, and they began to define themselves as Je'daii.[1] The name Je'daii itself was an amalgam of two ancient Dai Bendu words—je meaning "mystic" and dai meaning "center".[2]
Some of the Je'daii, however, became exclusively attracted to the Bogan, an aspect of the Force relying on raw and destructive emotions. They sought to use their knowledge of the Force to achieve power for themselves. In 25,793 BBY, this gave rise to the Force Wars, a conflict between the followers of the light and dark sides of the Force that lasted for a decade.[3] When the Force War ended, the Je'daii reorganized themselves into the Jedi Order.
