Biography

Jean-Luc Picard, a Human male, was a member of the United Federation of Planets. He nearly dropped out of Starfleet Academy, but persisted, going on to become captain of both the U.S.S. Enterprise-D and the U.S.S. Enterprise-E. The Enterprise-D, a Galaxy-class starship, served as the flagship of Starfleet, a division of the Federation. An experienced traveler through space, time, and other dimensions, he fell victim to the Borg at some stage in his life. In his spare time, he would practice being a musician. He also made use of an artificial heart. Among his crew on the Enterprise-D were the Soong-Type Android Lieutenant Commander Data, Klingon Lieutenant Worf, Riker, and Geordi. At some stage, Picard and his crew entered a new galaxy and encountered the ruling power there, the Galactic Empire.[1]

Personality and traits

Picard had an aptitude for leadership, which was considered his strongest quality. He would constantly get the best out of his crew, which sustained few casualties under his command. Picard was also particularly skilled in warfare strategy.[1]

Behind the scenes

"Make it so."
Jean-Luc Picard[src]

Jean-Luc Picard is a character from the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the show, he is portrayed by Patrick Stewart. In a 1998 issue of the magazine InQuest, the article "Mirror, Mirror," written by Michael Mikaelian and Jason Robinette, suggested a crossover between the Star Wars and Star Trek universes through Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game and the Star Trek equivalent. In the article, three Star Trek characters, including Picard, are given Customizable Card Game cards in Decipher's Star Wars format; photos of Stewart in the role of Picard are used as illustrations.
