The Map Rooms were chambers in the Jedi Temple where Jedi could access maps of nearly anything in the galaxy. Many of these rooms existed, most were simply rooms with varying purposes that had mechanisms in place to project a map within the center of the chamber. The largest of these rooms featured a velvety-blue curved dome. It was Qui-Gon Jinn's favorite room in the Temple. Jedi Padawan, Whie Malreaux used the largest of these rooms to find his inner calm after his late-night nightmares of his death. Some training verandas were equipped with holodevices.

During Operation: Knightfall, most of the Map rooms of the Temple were destroyed; the projectors thrashed, the cloth ceilings shredded. After the Jedi were all neutralized, the Temple and the Map rooms were left abandoned. One, however, located in one of the Council Towers remained largely intact. It was within this chamber that Imperial agent Flame hid a message for Darth Vader. Ferus Olin would discover this and delete the data; Olin noticed while he was in the chamber that he could see the main foyer of the Tower through a hole in the floor.
