Jimbo Kinnison was a male Padawan who failed to become a fully ranking Jedi Knight due to his inability to resist the dark side of the Force.
Biography

A Force-sensitive male, Jimbo Kinnison was inducted into the academy within the Coruscant Jedi Temple, and was trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi Order. As an Initiate, Kinnison demonstrated promise, but his instructors detected a proclivity toward the dark side of the Force. Still, Kinnison was selected to become a Padawan and went onto craft his own lightsaber under the instruction of another Jedi. When the time came for Kinnison to pass his Trials of Knighthood, the Padawan failed to prove that he could not be touched by darkness and the Jedi High Council refused to grant him the rank of Jedi Knight. Unable to move on within the hierarchy of the Jedi Order, Kinnison abandoned the Temple with his lightsaber still in his possession.[1]
Wandering the galaxy, Kinnison did not participate in the Clone Wars and was therefore spared the immediate ramifications of the Great Jedi Purge, a mass slaughtering of Jedi initiated by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Surviving during the reign of the Galactic Empire, Kinnison had a confrontation with the smuggler Roark Garnet sometime during this period. Garnet was bold enough to engage Kinnison in combat with a club, while the failed Jedi wielded his old lightsaber.[1]
