Joni Ree was a scientist who worked Czerka 431, a secret military research facility that was ran by the Czerka Corporation during the Jedi Civil War. The Sith military took direct control of the facility and placed Ree in charge of experimenting with Juggernaut war droids. She disliked her new bosses and arranged for the Galactic Republic to "discover" Czerka 431, which she could then use to stage an escape attempt, using Juggernauts to blast her way out.
