The Juniper Chest was a sacred item to the Gupins of the Forest Moon of Endor. The highly decorated chest was thought to provide energy and power to the Gupins and to allow them to grow wings and fly. The chest was the focal point of the Gupin Renewal Ceremony during which the Gupins rejuvenated their powers. On one occasion shortly before the Battle of Yavin, the Grass Trekkers were given the key to the chest by the Gupin Punt. The Gupins secured the aid of the Ewoks of Bright Tree Village to reclaim the chest and to drive the Grass Trekkers away.
